Challenge Sandefjord: Badeparken, Sandefjord, Norway
An area rich in Viking history and spectacular fjords is home to the latest addition to the Challenge Family global series of triathlons. Challenge Sandefjord in Norway will take place on 29th June 2025 with athletes racing over the middle distance through some of Norway’s most iconic countryside and coastline.
Sandefjord is just 120km from Oslo and is popular coastal town and holiday destination with a strong Viking history going back over 1,000 years.
The day starts. The day kicks off from the beach at Granholmen Camping, with a leap into the fjord for the single lap 1.9km sheltered swim before heading out on the two-lap 86km bike.
The rolling course passes through the typical Norwegian landscape. The cycling stage will first take you into the center of Sandefjord, before you head out into a traditional Norwegian landscape where you will cycle along one of Norway's best salmon rivers (Nummedalslågen). The majority of the cycling stage is on roads open to normal traffic. Normal traffic in the early hours of a Sunday is light traffic. Now that you have finished cycling, you will enjoy four laps in the center of Sandefjord. On this section you will get to know the road up to Brydedammen, through historic Bjerregata and you finish in Badeparken.
